CoventryPROJECT SUMMARY
Galliford Try appointed Roskel at an early stage to help develop design of SFS Infill Framing with Metsec to this interesting 10 storey concrete frame building, with main elevations curved to a fifty meter radius.
The Project comprised of a mixture of 100mm and 150mm Metsec Infill Walling sections, to all elevations of the structure and inclusive of a roof parapet. The framing was boarded externally with 12mm RCM Cemboard which was complete with the joints being taped with the RCM Dafa Tape and Resin seal ready to receive a direct render system.
The Metsec framing was installed internally working off the floor slabs, following close behind the concrete frame back prop removal. This allowed all elevations to be boarded up to the top of level 5 off a large Diesel Scissor Lift. At this point the boarding was temporary sealed to sixth floor slab, enabling early commencement of the internal apartments works on the lower floors, which was a major programming advantage to the main contractor. The completion of boarding to the Metsec framing on levels 6 to 10 and associated balcony works was completed from a fixed scaffold.
